The world’s energy requirements continue to grow apace. By 2030, energy consumption is expected to increase by about half, to 160,500 TWh. By 2060, this is forecast to roughly double to 321,000 TWh. The supply of fossil fuels is limited, however, and will not even come close to covering this increased demand. Thus, renewable energies will have a vital contribution to make.
